Lithic Genealogy was founded by Mary Podgorny. Mary has had the privilege to manage hundreds of genealogy cases of U.S. service members as a small part of the overall mission of the Department of Defense to provide for the fullest possible accounting of U.S. service members unaccounted for from our nation's past wars and conflicts.

pondering a sOLUTION

With a deep understanding of the government's unique genealogical requirements and overall mission, Mary recognized there was a vast amount of genealogical research that needed to be completed. She also realized that time is of the essence to complete these genealogies quickly as the population is aging. Mary knew there were hundreds of genealogists that wanted to contribute to this mission. She wanted to help and knew others that wanted to help too.

bridging the gAP

Combining her love of research with over 20 years management experience successfully assembling and leading multiple teams and hundreds of employees, Mary set out to bridge this gap by forming a dynamic, cohesive group of professional genealogists, investigators and researchers. She developed a strict vetting process, training programs, operational procedures, implemented required technologies, and Lithic Genealogy was born.

UNTIL they are hOME
